This is a close-up view of Red Gorgonian Coral from Agamemnon Channel BC Canada.The small polyps are clearly shown busy straining microscopic organisms from the swift current. Trees of these colonies (see right) can reach a height of around 6ft or more.They are usually found at depths in excess of 100ft. so diving to them must be well planned.
