
The first picture was taken at Acala point on Galiano Island(Southern Gulf Islands, BC).
The second was of a different species from Dodds narrows BC.
These "aggregating anemones" live near the surface and thrive on lots of light because they have green algae incorporated into their tissues. The algae photosynthesise making sugar and pass on this nutrition to their host in return for accomodation.The anemones of course feed on suspended animals that float by for their main diet
